As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to grow, governments, authorities and businesses big and small are working hard to slow the spread of the outbreak. One of the most important ways they are doing this is by encouraging workers to stay at home and work remotely.
Following in the footsteps of global giants such as Google, Microsoft, Twitter, Apple, Amazon and Spotify, Fusion is now doing the same. Taking proactive measures, Fusion closed its offices on March 16, allowing its employees to work remotely from home for the benefit of all.
So, what does that mean for you? In this post, we’ll look at the changes we have made, and how they will affect you. We will also touch on the benefits of working remotely during a crisis such as this, so you can make an informed choice regarding your own decision to work from home.
What changes can you expect?
On March 16, Fusion closed its offices. They will remain closed indefinitely, until the crisis has passed. However, as our employees are now working remotely from home, you should experience minimal disruption as they continue day-to-day operations.
Our teams will be on hand to assist you during regular working hours, from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, Sunday to Thursday. Should you have any urgent requests out of these office hours, you may contact our advisors on their work mobiles.
With the technology and systems already in place, this allows each of our employees to continue to work just as they would within an office environment. Fully supported by our IT department, they will simply carry on with day-to-day operations, making adjustments where needed.
An example of the adjustments we may need to make includes how we communicate with you. Instead of face-to-face meetings, we may set up a conference call instead, while other communications will be carried out over the phone, or via email or message.
As for our drivers, they will remain available for the delivery and collection of all necessary documents during the same working hours.
Why are we doing this?
There are many reasons behind our decision to work remotely. Let’s take a look at some of the most important of those.
- We want to protect our employees: At Fusion, we value our employees and want to ensure they stay safe. One of the most effective ways we can do this is to ask them to stay at home to work, reducing their chances of exposure to the virus.
- We want to protect our clients: We also value the safety and wellbeing of our clients. By providing our clients with an alternative way to communicate with us, we are working to minimise their potential for exposure to the virus.
- We want to slow the spread of COVID-19: Overall, we want to slow the spread of COVID-19. Experts around the world are asking people to reduce contact with others to the slow the spread of the virus. By doing this, we work together to flatten the curve, reducing the impact on our medical services.
- We want to protect those most vulnerable to the virus: Those who are young and healthy may think COVID-19 is of no danger to them. However, by being proactive, by making changes to the way we all work and live our lives, we can protect those who are more vulnerable to the virus.
